These Terms govern your use of Backbone Catalog ("the App"), a Shopify embedded admin application that ingests supplier PDF catalogs and helps you populate your Shopify storefront from them. By installing the App you agree to these Terms.

1. What the App does

The App accepts supplier PDF catalogs you upload, sends each page to an AI vision model (Anthropic Claude) to classify and extract product data, and gives you a review interface from which you can push the result to your Shopify store. Any changes to your Shopify catalog only happen when you explicitly press a Push button.

2. Subscription and credits

The App is offered on a monthly recurring subscription (currently $15/month for the Starter plan) plus optional one-time credit-pack purchases for additional page extraction beyond the included monthly allowance. All charges are processed by Shopify's Billing API and appear on your standard Shopify invoice.

Credit packs are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically every 30 days until cancelled. Free-trial periods, where offered, end automatically — cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

3. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the App's Billing page or by uninstalling the App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Page credits already consumed are non-refundable. Unused credit-pack pages do not carry over after uninstall.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload PDFs you do not have the legal right to process (e.g. copyrighted third-party catalogs you have not been licensed to redistribute).
• Use the App to populate misleading product information or to commit fraud against Shopify or your customers.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, abuse, or overload the App or its underlying services (Anthropic, Shopify, Fly.io).

5. Extracted data accuracy

The App uses AI to classify pages and extract products. Errors can and will happen — that is the explicit purpose of the human review step. You are responsible for reviewing every product before pushing it to your Shopify store. We make no warranty that extracted SKUs, prices, dimensions, materials, or descriptions are 100% accurate.

6. Third-party services

The App depends on Shopify (host) and Anthropic (AI provider). Outages or changes to those services may affect the App. We will use reasonable efforts to maintain availability but offer no specific uptime guarantee on the Starter plan.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in an in-app banner. Continued use of the App after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the jurisdiction where the App's operator is established. Update this clause with your actual jurisdiction before launch.
